Grinders

If you have been to the shreddeEurohansa cutr page already and you think you are seeing double - don’t worry. There is a reason the shredder page and the grinder page are the same. Very simply, shredders and grinders are the same thing! In one industry they refer to these low speed, high torque single shaft machines as shredders, while in another, they are referred to as grinders.

ZENO GmbH was the first to design and manufacturer the low noise, low speed, single-shaft, vertical or hopper type grinders so widely in use today in so many different industries. Eurohansa has been selling and servicing ZENO Grinders in the U.S. and Canada since our establishment in 1988, making us the oldest grinder company on the continent under the same name and ownership. We stock all parts for every grinder we sell, right here in High Point, NC.

There are many types of applications, and every application requires a certain amount of production from their grinder. From vast experience, product testing, development and extensive knowledge, ZENO offers these world-class grinders in over 90 different sizes, with many different configurations and components depending on the end users application parameters. We also offer the widest range of unique design features and options than any other grinder manufacturer on the globe. {nomutlithumb}

Grinders are called by many other names. In the plastics industry, most people refer to these single-shaft machines as shredders. Grinders came out of the wood industry through necessity and are now commonly used because you can ‘batch-feed’ these machines using box-dumpers or self-dumping hoppers, even front end loaders or fork-lifts. Used to be that hammermills was the only way to size-reduce wood and lumber. These high speed, high noise, high maintenance machines were always jamming and had to control feed by the operators.

Today the grinders are installed in all facets and applications. Grinders for plastic are used for the initial size-reduction phase. In some applications, the chips coming from the grinders are automatically transferred by conveyor into the old hammermills for further size-reduction. In others, the grinder generates the required chip size without regrinding. Suddenly, pallets and hardwood blocks are reclaimed without danger of jamming ZDv with grapplehammermills. Boxes full of scrap can be dumped and reduced at once. Large parts are recycled without cutting them down first.

No matter how you load it, or what you call it, trust ZENO Grinders for your recycling efforts. Often copied, never matched. Click on the ‘components’ button (here or on the left of the page) to see more details about the inner workings and features of a ZENO Shredder.
