Particle separation by density separation according to specific weights

Separation technology

Mixed plastic waste can be reused only in a few fields. A prerequisite for a successful reusability is the separation into the different pure fractions of plastics, which have their consolidated markets. The financial proceeds and the variety of usage depend on the purity – and thus the quality – of the separated plastic fractions. The separation technology has been evolved to one of the most successful and most effective separation systems. More than 160.000 mto plastic waste annually are recycled through systems in Germany alone. The separation technology shows convincing economic results and is very space-saving, having a floor-requirement of only 15 m². A trouble-free integration into existing swim-sink systems is quick and easy.

The patented separation technology has been developed to separate mixed lots of plastics into the different pure fractions. Our separation units are available for throughputs of 300 kg up to 5 mto plastic flakes or up to 1 mto film flake per hour. The separation units are to be operated with water as a medium as well as with other fluids of a density 1 g/cmm³. These separation units are projected to replace conventional swim-sink units due to the simple installation and the small floor requirement of only 15 m² per unit. The respective fluids with the density demanded and the dosage-technology can be supplied on demand.

Plant conception

The patented Turbo Laminare Trenntechnik is a wet-separating procedure based on the separation by density. The separation medium are fluids with different density so that within them the flake departs to a light-fraction and a heavy-fraction according to it’s specific gravity. Through this technology it is possible to install separation cascades, which means that several separation units (suspension cylinder and separation cylinder) are connected in succession, containing different fluids each with a different density, in which the plastic material with its different specific gravity is separated. So the single sort of plastic can be separated in their pure sorts and than highly qualified reused. An outstanding importance has the technology in the sector of PET recycling, especially at the separation of barrier material, at the separation of electro and electronic scrap, at mixed wrapping-plastics and the recycling of plastics from the used-car processing. The development of this separation technology is marked by an excellent separation effect, high throughput and convincing economic results Our technology has been operated commercially. Today ca. 160.000 mto p.a. of films and solid plastics are processed by our technology.
