Elutriation: The process by which a granular material can be sorted into its constituent particle sizes by means of a moving stream of fluid (usually air or water).
Another way to separate materials is by an Elutriation System. This unit was installed in a PVC Window plant to separate fines from acceptably sized particles, but also to separate all of the bits of window gasketing from the scrap material. This leaves the end-user with completely clean contaminate free PVC that can be used in a new product.
The 6-stage separation process of this elutriation unit is much more complex than simple wind-sifting and of course provides excellent separation capabilities. The entire units including cyclones, blowers and filtration system, as well as scaffolding, piping and layout can be delivered by Eurohansa, Inc.
